The HA-609A Elite Series was never intended as a simple recreation. It was designed as an evolution, preserving the character of a legendary compressor while expanding its capabilities for today’s production environments.

An entirely discrete Class A topology, three Carnhill St Ives transformers per channel, and the addition of a fast attack mode for both the compressor and limiter are just a few of the enhancements that helped elevate the HA-609A into a modern classic. The HA-609A Dual Mono/Stereo Compressor/Limiter plugin has been developed using current-generation component-level modelling, allowing every stage of the signal path, from gain reduction behaviour to harmonic response, to be captured with exceptional accuracy.

No manufacturer, large or small, was able to bring the real thing to the public until the first Heritage Audio units - whose name we do not wish to recall - came onto the market and revolutionised the industry forever. Since then, Heritage audio’s design has become the industry standard vintage 73 style preamplifier, making it nearly ubiquitous in professional audio studios around the world. When we released the SUCCESSOR it was a first in its class, finally allowing creative engineers, producers and musicians to apply warm, colorful and fat compresion. A POWERFUL SECRET WEAPON FOR MANY DURING THE LAST 60 YEARS The Lang PEQ-2 Program Equalizer was almost lost in time before Heritage Audio bought and relaunched the brand in 2022. Not very many units were made and those that have survived until today are carefully guarded by their lucky owners. Also known as the “Transistors Pultec” as both units are based on the same patented Western Electric design, those that are lucky enough to still have them have stated that they have become their “secret weapon”.
